One of our previous posts covered the debut of a new USDA campaign known as Know Your Farmer, Know Your Food.

Said campaign seeks to break down structural barriers that have inhibited local food systems from thriving. It seeks to connect local production and consumption and promote local-scale sustainable operations.

According to a press release from September 15th 2009, the USDA has launched a new initiative titled Know Your Farmer, Know Your Food as a means to begin a national conversation to help develop local and regional food systems and spur economic opportunity.
